About
b.2001, Mexico City, MX. based in The Netherlands.
Alejandro Jiménez
works in the spaces between things: diverse disciplines, materials, temporalities, and references drawn into a practice that shifts and reshapes like a living organism. Through painting, sculpture, installation, and sound, he searches for disruptions in the structures of modern knowledge - distinct divisions between mind and body, science and art, nature and culture, human and nonhuman - by inviting to re-negotiate difference and agency as un-alienating potentials. With a method of gathering and entangling found objects, philosophy, social conditions, and the body, his practice is an invitation to reconsider ambiguity as a device that can shift our experience and understanding of reality.
Jiménez obtained a BFA in Fine Arts and Artistic Research at BEAR ArtEZ in The Netherlands (2025) while passing through Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Vienna with professor Iman Issa (2024). In summer 2025, he obtained the
Arnhem Art Award
issued by the Museum Arnhem and was nominated for
Current Current
Award ArtEZ. His work has been exhibited in Mexico, The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Italy.
In 2018 he was part of Atelier Constelaciones Collective, an iterant platform combining education and arts, exhibiting in the educational hall of Museo Rufino Tamayo in Mexico City. From 2018 to 2021 Jimenez took part in the artist-run space El Consultorio in Mexico City.
