Subtracted Maps

Subtracted Maps presents a series of maps intervened with holes. From a gesture such as pointing or canceling infromation through the void, this series of maps proposes a reconfiguration of the cartographic space in political, social, cultural and environmental terms. Through the re-codification of each map, new readings of it are revealed that affect and question ways of seeing space, territory, political structures, the implications of representation, and historical hegemonic narratives.
